KETAMINE ASSISTED Therapy
KAP is one of the most accessible and legally available forms of psychedelic-assisted therapy in California today.

Sometimes you know something is there.. out of reach. You can sense it — a pattern that keeps repeating, a place in the body that won’t soften no matter how much work you’ve done.
Ketamine can sometimes be the door into what's hidden. Not to force it open, but to make it accessible — so we can finally work with it directly, intentionally, and with the support of a full therapeutic container around it.
WHAT KETAMINE
ASSISTED -THERAPY IS
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines the therapeutic effects of ketamine — a legal, FDA-approved medicine — with intentional psychotherapeutic support before, during, and after each session.
At sub-anesthetic doses used in therapeutic settings, ketamine produces a temporary altered state that can quiet the self-critical mind, soften habitual defenses, and open access to experiences and perspectives that are difficult to reach in ordinary consciousness. Combined with skilled therapeutic presence and exploratory therapy, this window becomes an opportunity for meaningful, lasting change.
KAP is offered in collaboration with a licensed prescribing medical provider who conducts the psychiatric evaluation, determines eligibility, and oversees the medical aspects of your care. My role is the psychotherapy — preparation, support during your session, and the integration work that follows.
The Treatment Team
KAP is a collaborative process. I partner with Dr. Kwasi Adusei, DNP, PMHNP-BC of Mosaic Medicine — a holistic psychiatric practice rooted in the intersection of mind, body, and spirit. Dr. Adusei is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who conducts the psychiatric evaluation, determines candidacy, prescribes ketamine, and oversees the medical aspects of your care.
My role is the psychotherapy — the preparation work, therapeutic presence during your session, and the integration that follows. Together, we offer a genuinely collaborative treatment experience that is more supportive.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The process moves through three phases. Preparation sessions clarify your intention, build internal resources, and orient your nervous system toward the expanded state. The medicine session itself is held in a safe, supported environment with music and therapeutic presence. Integration sessions follow to make meaning of what emerged and anchor shifts into daily life.
KAP sessions range from 90 minutes to 3 hours depending on dosage, intention, and the therapeutic approach used.
KAP may be a good fit if you are navigating:
treatment-resistant depression or anxiety
PTSD that has been difficult to reach through other approaches
a deep sense of being stuck
a curiosity about what expanded states can reveal — and a readiness to bring that exploration into a therapeutic container
Ketamine is prescribed and medically supervised by Dr. Kwasi Adusei, DNP, PMHNP-BC, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner at Mosaic Medicine. Ashley K. Whelan, LPCC provides the psychotherapy component only. KAP requires a medical evaluation and is not appropriate for all clients. Contraindications will be discussed during consultation.
